Statistics Of Candidates that Applied UNIUYO First Choice in 2018 UTME

Joint Admission And Matriculation Board,JAMB has presented the statistics of the total number of candidates that applied for 2018 UTME in the just concluded registration exercise. According to the Board Public Relation officer,Fabian Benjamin over 1.4 million candidates applied for the exam.

With this regard roman communications extended their research to knowing the statistics of the applicants nationwide who opted and choose University of Uyo, UNIUYO as their first Choice at the course of the registration, we gathered from the reliable source, precisely from the board official website that 38,849 candidates applied UNIUYO as their first choice.

From our research,we found that out of the 91 departments/courses in the institution, the major professional courses such as Medicine and surgery, Law and Pharmacy gained the highest applicants, the statistical figure are as follows: Medicine and surgery has 4,253 candidates, Law has 3,418 candidates,while Pharmacy has 2,079 candidates. Other courses that attracted enough applicants are computer science with 1,059 candidates, business management with 2,763 candidates, civil Engineering with 1,091 candidates.

The list is inexhaustible, though the observations show that there is much competition in some departments like Medicine and Surgery, pharmacy, law, accounting, computer science, business management, economics, electrical/electronic engineering, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering and architecture.In the same vein, we discovered that there is admission opportunity in some lesser competitive departments such as zoology, music education,curriculum studies,education and efik/ibibio,education and geography, agric. engineering,education and science, education and art, Forestry and wildlife.
