Obong University Admission in Progress

General information

Obong University was licensed in May 2007 to operate as a private university, Obong University is located at Obong Ntak, about one hour from Uyo and Port Harcourt and 30 minutes from Aba.

Obong University is focusing on providing quality education in the basic sciences and management sciences in an environment of strong academic excellence. The academic programmes will broaden in coming years to include other disciplines. The university also offers opportunities for spiritual growth and encouragement for patriotic zeal.

 

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission into Obong University as with other universities in Nigeria is through the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board. Candidates applying to Obong University are therefore expected to have entered for the current JAMB examination and scored at least the minimum prescribed points.

COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

COLLEGE OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES

PROGRAMME	O/L SUBJECTS	UTME SUBJECTS
MathematicsStatisticsComputer Science Physics	Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalence) including English, Mathematics and any other 3 subjects preferably Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Agricultural Science in that order	UTME subjects are English, Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry or Biology.
MicrobiologyBiotechnologyBiochemistry Chemistry Industrial Chemistry	Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalence) in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.	UTME subjects are English, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics.

 

DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSIONS

For admission to 200 Level (Direct Entry), candidates should (in addition to SSCE credit passes) obtain a minimum of two (2) A’Level (or its equivalence) passes in relevant subjects, or posses NCE, GCE A/Level OND or HND with credit/merit passes, or possess a good First degree in a relevant field as the case may be. (Credit passes in English and Mathematics are compulsory for all courses).

Applicant must have purchased a Direct Entry Form for JAMB for the current year.

 

CANDIDATES WHO DID NOT CHOOSE OBONG UNIVERSITY IN THEIR JAMB APPLICATION

Candidates who did not choose Obong University in their JAMB application may complete the Application for Admission Form for Obong University. The University will submit their names to JAMB office, Abuja.
