NYSC Presidential Award Await 164 Corp Members March 3

Not less than one hundred and sixty four (164) Ex-Corps Members will be receiving the prestigious NYSC Presidential Award of Excellence in National Service come March 3, 2015. The set of ‘Copas’ listed for this award are 2014 Batch A members who met the criteria for the prize of excellence in service. They shall exchange hand-shakes with President Goodluck Jonathan in the Asorock Villa on 3rd.

Revealing names of winners for this year, Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig-Gen Johnson Olawumi, said the commission was able to select 164 Ex service men/women out of 613 submissions received.

Brig-Gen Olawumi added that the selections, which were made by distinguished Nigerians with track records of honesty and integrity, were from assessment of reports on each of the nominees for the combined 2012, 2013 and 2014 editions.

He further stated that other criteria considered for the award include personal qualities of good character, sense of duty, drive and determination, reliability, initiative and resourcefulness, command and leadership, team work and other special contributions made by the Corp Member in and outside his Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) during service.
