MOUAU Emerge New Vice Chancellor
latest school news reaching us has it that the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia, Professor Anya Anya, has announced Professor Francis Otunta as the new Vice Chancellor of the university.
Professor Anya Anya, said that the appointment was approved by the governing council following Mr. Otunta’s successful performance at an interview of shortlisted candidates for the position, which took place on Wednesday at the institution.
According to the Anya, the appointment is for a single term of five years.
Mr. Otunta, who hails from Afikpo, Ebonyi State, was born on April 29, 1958, and became a professor at the University of Benin in August 2003.
He was the Rector, Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, Ebonyi from 2006 to 2014.
Mr. Otunta would replace Prof. Hilary Edeoga, whose tenure would lapse in March 2016.
