LASU 20th Convocation Ceremony Postponed Indefinitely
LASU 20th Convocation Ceremony Postponed Indefinitely.
Management of Lagos State University regrets to announce the postponement of activities lined up for the 20th Convocation Ceremony earlier scheduled to hold on Wednesday 18th March and Thursday 19th March, 2015 respectively.
The decision became imperative in the light of the agitation/protest by ASUU, SSANU & NASU on Monday 16th March, 2015, at the Main Campus, Ojo.
New dates for the University 20th Convocation Ceremony would be announced later.
Lagos State University Management deeply regrets all inconveniences this development might cause graduands, parents, the entire University Community and the general public
Meanwhile, LASU staff unions have resolved that the university’s 20th convocation ceremony cannot be held until the state government meets all its demands, including the removal of the Vice Chancellor, Professor John Obafunwa.
The workers, who declared the vice chancellor “persona non grata,” called on the governor to appoint a new “impartial” acting vice chancellor as a matter of urgency to complete Obafunwa’s tenure, which is expected to expire in September.
It would be recalled that workers of the Lagos state University, on Monday throw sachets of water at the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, which eventually made his cloth wetted.
The situation infuriated the vice-chancellor who sobbed as he walked through the main road leading to the main gate of the campus.
