Kidnappers of 53-Year-Old Matron Arrested in Ondo

However, it was gathered that the anti kidnapping squad, led by DSP Onabanjo Adekunle, effected the arrest of the suspects and the release of the victim.
It would be recalled that the suspects ambushed the victim while she was on her way to church along Alaye- Araromi road.
After her abduction, a ransom of N35 million was demanded from the management of the company and her family.
Vanguard gathered that negotiation was still on between the abductors and the family of the victim when detectives swooped on them in their hideout.
Eralkuemen, according to sources in the company, is one of the old staff of the company
The victim hails from Edo State and is the only matron in the company’s clinic.
Vanguard’s efforts to speak with the Managing Director of the company, Mr Eric Hocepied, to confirm if any ransom was paid to the kidnappers by the company or the family yielded no fruits last night.
Hocepued had, however, confirmed when the matron was kidnapped that her abductors were demanding for N35 million.
Hocepied lamented that the increase in the cases of kidnap is becoming worrisome adding that”anybody could be kidnapped in Nigeria today.”
The Managing Director said that efforts are in top gear to secure her release.
According to him the security in the company and around the workers have been beefed up to guard against future occurrence.
