Good news to Nigerian Students as FG to Reintroduce #SchoolFeeding —Minister of Education
THE Federal Government is considering the reintroduction of the home-grown school feeding and health programme as a component of the Universal Basic Education programme.
Supervising Minister of Education, Mr Nyesom Wike, said the feeding would boost enrolment and retention in public schools across the country.
A statement by the Principal Public Relations Officer, Universal Basic Education Commission, Mr David Apeh, in Abuja on Tuesday, said, Wike, spoke recently at the opening ceremony of the 20th quarterly meeting of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Management with Executive Chairmen of State Universal Basic Education Commission (SUBEB) held in owerri, Imo State.
The minister who was represented by Dr Olu Ayewoh, said the Federal Government would not rest on its oars in its efforts to ensure that basic education is given the desired attention.
According to him, the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan, emphasised intervention in the provision of basic education to the disadvantaged segment of the society.
