BSUM Commences New Penalty for late Registration by Students

The Senate may recall that its 240th meeting held on Thursday, 27th February, 2014 modified the proposed rates by Management to check endless registration and payment of fees by students of the University for recommendation to Council that:

Normal registration and payment of fees should last for the first two weeks of resumption with an extra week of grace for add and drop courses. Thereafter, any student that fails to register within the period should be surcharged for late registration as follows:
1st week – N3, 000.00
2nd week – N5, 000.00
3rd week – N7, 000.00
4th week – N10, 000.00,and final closure of the University portal for registration

2) The 86th meeting of Council held on Friday, 28th March, 2014 considered and approved penalty on late registration as follows:
4th week – N2, 000.00
5th week – N3, 000.00
6th week – N5, 000.00
7th week – N7, 000.00, and final closure of the University portal for registration.

3) Council further approved that the policy should be implemented after adequate sensitization of students by Management on the development.
